Tablehand
Reservation system
A reservation system for US restaurants: a marketing site, a floor plan for staff and a booking widget for the restaurant’s own site.
Self-initiated project. Tablehand, the Juniper & Salt restaurant and the guests on screen are fictional.

Many restaurants still take reservations by phone, in the middle of service. Guests don’t know if there’s a table until someone picks up, and staff can’t see the whole night in one place.
For staff, the main screen is the floor plan. Each table shows at a glance whether it’s open, booked or seated, a timeline below it covers the whole night, and the list beside it is sorted by arrival time and flags allergies and special occasions. On the restaurant’s site, guests pick a date, party size and time. Full slots are crossed out instead of hidden, so it’s obvious when there’s room.
